About Mike McDowell

I’m a native of Reno, Nevada, a graduate of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, and I work for KPS3 Marketing (an integrated marketing communications agency). I’ve worked with clients in industries ranging from gaming, to healthcare, to banking, to real estate, to government and nonprofits. I oversee and manage integrated marketing communications for my clients – keeping them on brand, on budget and on strategy.

As the Director of New Media, I also assist KPS3’s clients with the latest new media strategies including e-mail marketing, search engine marketing, mobile marketing, video, Podcasting, blogging, social networks, consumer generated media, viral marketing and more. As new media tools and trends emerge, I investigate and evaluate their strategic value to a marketing mix.

This is my personal blog, and the opinions and ideas that I share here are not necessarily those of KPS3.

About This Blog

Who knows? After the years of reading and commenting on blogs, writing my family blog, and the myriad of conversations about blogging – I figured it was about time to create a place to start plopping some of my thoughts. I will be posting things about marketing, advertising, communication, Reno, funny things, ridiculousness and things that happen in my life that I don’t necessarily want to subject my and my wife’s family to reading on our family blog. I am sure I will be re-posting plenty of great things that I find on other blogs, as well. I’ll try to point things out and give you my take on them. I welcome your opinion, too – so please give me your two cents. We’ll see where this thing goes.
